1. What is the PGPMI Course about?
The PGPMI Certification Program in Management & Insurance (PGPMI) course is the first of its kind. It has been designed by ICICI Prudential Life and will be conducted by leading business schools.

2. Where can this course be taken up?
The PGP in Management and Insurance will be conducted by leading Business schools across the country. The Institutes/ Colleges where the course is being conducted is as follows:
CBS - Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai.
Manipal University - Lucknow and Hyderabad.

3. Can I choose a specific Institute/ College or am I allocated a particular Institute/ College?
Yes, you are free to give any center and institute as your choice. However, the allotment will be done only on receipt of the Commitment Fees in form of a Demand Draft for Rs. 10,000/- in favour the Institute of their choice. Candidates need to send the Demand Drafts to our Headoffice at:

We follow the First Come First Serve basis for the Admission process.

4. Can I change the center if I am unable to attend to the one I get allocated to?
The change is subject to availability of vacancies in the Institute/ College concerned.

5.Are 6 months sufficient for a Management Programme?
Yes, it is. In countries like the UK, the new trend of a six months Management course is in place. It has been realized that this Management course propels the career just as effectively as the traditional two year MBA.

6. How do I know if I am eligible for the course?
Graduates of any stream having passed out in the years 2006 and 2007 with less than 12 months of experience and those who would pass out in the year 2008 are eligible to do this course.

7. When does this course start?
The Course is scheduled to commence in June 2008. Details of course commencement will be available with the individual college centers/ and will be mentioned in the admission letter from the selected College.

8. Are there any loan schemes for the course fee?
ICICI Bank provides an education loan that would cover the entire course fee as well as supplementary expenses (such as course material, boarding and lodging expenses) as stipulated by the Institute (subject to a maximum amount of Rs. 2 Lakhs per individual). The rate of interest charged is 14.75%.
Bank of India and Credila are the other institutions providing loan assistance.

9. Is there any Stipend available during PGPMI? 
No stipend will be given.

10. Is there Hostel Facility available?
The institute will assist you in getting hostel facility either on-campus or off-campus.

11. How do I apply for the Programme?

1. Visit our Course website www.tmifirst.com/pgp/index.htm and download the course prospectus.
2. Fill up the application form on the course website. Walk into any of the Assessment Centers on the given dates along with the duly filled application form and the necessary documents.
   The candidate must produce the following documents along with the filled in Application form:
   (a) Passport size photograph in color- 3 copies (pasted at the specified places on the
   application and signed across where indicated)
   (b) Copy of mark sheet of Graduation, 12th & 10th Class and additional certificates such as ATMA scores, if any.
   (c) Proof of identity
   (d) Copy of your latest Resume
3. Take the written test, GD and Interview.
4. Candidates who have already attended the Job Fairs would have to essentially register their details on the PGP website (www.tmifirst.com/pgp/index.htm) and give their choice of the B-School.

12. What documents are required to be submitted along with the application?
The candidate would essentially have to produce the following documents along with the filled in Application form:
(a) Passport size photograph in color- 3 copies (pasted at the specified places on the application and signed across where indicated)
(b) Photocopy of mark sheet of Graduation, 12th & 10th Class and additional certificates such as ATMA scores, if any.
(c) Proof of identity.
(d) Updated Resume.

13. Is the PGPMI Course being offered recognized?
In order to keep abreast with the fast changing market trends and booming economy, it is imperative that a tailor-made programme is designed by experts in the Industry. Almost all Autonomous/ Deemed Universities regularly update / modify their Management Programme every semester. The PGPMI is also such a programme, which is tailor-made by experts to match the requirement of the Insurance industry at large and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance in particular. However, the course is not officially recognized by any Institute, body or university. Currently AICTE does not approve any one-year program for management.

14. What if I am unable to download the prospectus from the website?

15. Can I use this site to register for the course?
Yes, Fill up the online application form in the course website and take a print out to submit at the Assessment center.

16. How do I know that the job is assured?
Yes, it is a definite Job Offer provided you complete the course successfully. Once you have completed the course successfully, then ICICI PRUDENTIAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED will appoint you as a regular employee.

17. What is the designation and salary that is being offered at the end of successful completion of the course?
The role will be that of an Executive Trainee - Tied Agency/ Financial Services Consultant. The role could vary depending on the skill set of the individual being considered.

18. Where will I get posted once the course is completed?
The posting would be in your natural market. In most of the cases, it will be in your hometown or the place where you have stayed at least for two years

19. Is the job role same for all the candidates who attend the course or will they vary according to the performances?
The company would look for the best fit of the candidates. Though this program is aimed at finding talent and grooming them for a Unit Manager role, fitments in other roles cannot be ruled out.

20. Are there any specific targets subject to the role?
Like any sales job, targets will be there for all the Unit Managers. We need to feel charged up on seeing our targets and strive to bust the targets and set our own goals.

21. Will there be any employment Bond with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company? Can I join another company after the course?
As of now, there is no bond or commitment with the company. Yes, you are free to change but remember ICICI Prudential Life is the Market leader in the Private Sector of the Insurance Industry since 2000 and is one of the best paymasters and the fastest Growing Company in the Industry. Once you have been with ICICI Prudential for a couple of years, you automatically will profit from the Brand Name of the Company.

22. Is there a further training period with ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company at the end of the PGP? If yes, how long is it and what would be the salary during this training period with the Company?
The company encourages continuous learning and would proactively help the employees in identifying and pursuing executive programs, which can be taken up while continuing the job.

23. Is this course equal to an MBA degree?
PGPMI is a focused course tailor made qualification for the Life Insurance Sector by the Market Leader ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. Since the course is designed to be completed in one year, it is not equivalent to an MBA; but the course will put you at par with MBA students in terms of salary and other incentives.
The course is not officially recognized by AICTE. If ICICI Prudential Life has lent its name to a course, you can be assured that it will have a high degree of substance and quality. It is also being conducted by ten of the reputed B-Schools across India.

24. How do I know for sure that I will get the job once I have successfully completed the PGPMI?
It is the word and credibility of a leading private company in the Indian Insurance Industry. The Company will not make a promise that they would not be able to honour.

25. Who will give me the Certificate on completion of course?
The Certificate will be awarded by the concerned Institution on successful completion of the PGPMI Course.
